Eight years ago when I made first made this, the plan was for it to be where I posted sports things in the off chance anyone ever found this and actually cared what my thoughts on Case Keenum were. That job technically ended up going to Twitter. Oops.
The thought behind the name is that I came to the conclusion that Section 126 is collectively the best section out of all of the major stadiums in Houston.
- Mid-field at BBVA Compass Stadium
- 50 Yard line at NRG Stadium
- 1st Base line at Minute Maid Park
- As far away from the Red Rowdies as humanly possible
I kid, I kid… sort of. I appreciate the effort, but the cheering/chanting during notoriously dead spots in action was more distracting than it did getting me into the action. Especially when there was none at the time. Props to the people that could sustain it the entire game. I didn’t feel basketball lent itself to a soccer style supporter section chanting for 2 hours at a time, though it was pretty fun when the action/rest of the crowd matched the energy. Though it generally meant stuff was happening in the game. Maybe the crowd would have sat on their hands if it weren’t for the energy from the Rowdies, but I can hear them just fine from across the arena, thanks.
As for this blog, I wrote one Keenum post, and then never touched it again. Well, I’ve logged in about once every 6 months, but never come up with anything to write about. (I have the same problem on my personal blog, though that one has at least gotten some activity in the past 8 years.) I think I’ll keep the other one for more life related things in the few instances where I actually have something noteworthy, but this is probably going to be a general interests dumping ground going forward. Sports, tech, games. Smart home stuff might soon be a bigger focus, as I’m finally at a point where I can start spending (very little) money again. You’ll probably see a ton of Destiny 2 stuff, especially if cross play is introduced and I can start getting all the small segmented groups of people all playing at once across all platforms. Time to finally do some raids. As always, this might be the last post you see here until 2030, but if not, hopefully I’ll at least provide a little insight into what I’m paying attention to in 2021 and going forward. Later.
